Colonial Crafts will be making two positioning moves between Los Angeles
and Oakland. The first move from Los Angeles to Oakland will be on
Thursday, August 21, 2008 leaving Los Angeles at 10:15 AM arriving in
Oakland at 9:32 PM. The return move will be on Monday, August 25, 2008
leaving Oakland at 8:50 AM and arriving in Los Angeles at 9:00 PM.
This pair of moves is ideal for connection to Trains Unlimited Tours
Domes to Railroad Days Tour August 22-24,2008.
We will serve lunch and dinner onboard, all for only $150 each way. As
an added incentive, all reservations received prior to July 1, 2008 will
be discounted to $125.

DOMES OVER TEACHAHPI JUNE 22, 2008
For anyone interested, there are some seats left on the Coast Starlight
No. 14 between Los Angeles and Sacramento June 22 and even on to
Seattle. These seats are available on the two private rail cars that
will be attached to the tail end of the train. On top of that this
includes time in the Vista Dome section of both the Silver Lariat and
Silver Solarium. All passengers will have full access to both private
rail cars.
Trains Unlimited, Tours will have the ex California Zephyr Silver
Lariat and Silver Solarium right on the rear of No. 14 from Los Angeles
all the way to Seattle, Washington. Tickets are available for all
segements where No. 14 makes a regular station stop.
The Silver Lariat is a Vista Dome coach and the Silver Solarium is a
Vista Dome-Sleeper-Lounge-Rear end observations. Coach passengers will
be allowed in both dome cars. Not too bad!
Pullman passengers will be given a guaranteed dome seat at all times.
This sure beats dealing with 300 foamers on the regular part of this
Amtrak train. Closed doors prevents Amtrak passengers from entering our
private rail cars from the Foamers part of the train. No dealing with
those 300 plus foamers and photographers. We will have a maximum of
only 76 persons on both cars..That comes to only 38 passengers per car.
Much better than the Superliner cars were Amtrak will pack in around 75
plus passengers per rail car. This gives you double the space and
includes the historic CZ dome cars.
Also our private rail cars will have the vestibules open for this run
in order to afford plenty of photo.
The ticket price includes all onboard meals, freshly prepared by our
chef and his staff, fresh cut table flowers, linens, marked CZ table
clothes, marked CZ head rests, silver ware, crystal, uniform staff,
piped in music on both cars, Onboard DVD system, CPS system to watch the
progress of our train, onboard snacks and unlimited drinks from each
bar..(Each car has an open bar)
This is first class rail luxury travel at it's finest, or if you
choose, you can ride with the foamers and be packed into a Amtrak coach
and good luck getting a table if you want to have a meal.
